I am the oldest of three sisters and I'm proud to say I was an Army brat! My father made a career of the Army, serving with distinction with the 3rd Army during the Battle of the Bulge under General Patton (our family is very proud of Dad). Our family followed Dad to Japan, Germany and numerous locations in the USA, including Arlington, Virginia where I met the man that would become my husband. More than 40 years later my husband and I have been blessed with two children and three grandchildren - "The A-Team" of Ashley, Amber and Abby! I love the Lord, my husband and my family, in that order.
As a young girl, I first learned to sew at my mother's knee and this was the beginning of a life-long love of sewing and crafts. I made potholders as a child, sewed clothing for my daughter as a young mother, and took up quilting and other crafts as time went by. I particularly enjoyed patchwork quilting. I began doing craft shows as Kathy's Patch Works (KPW) in 1985, offering painted pecan-resin pieces, quilts, pillows, stuffed animals and dolls. I started KPW Distributors in 1992 primarily to offer pecan-resin pieces and related items; however, I am now focusing on sewing. I have a great love of chenille. I love the material, I love working with it and I particularly enjoy creating things with it. I am somewhat of a perfectionist and work hard to ensure my creations reflect my best effort. I still enjoy going to shows and meeting people – be sure to look at My Shows page! I hope you enjoy owning your purchase and much as I enjoyed making it!
